At Resilient Hearts, we are dedicated to empowering young adults with developmental disabilities by providing essential life skills, guidance, and support for independent living. Founded in 2023 by Arshdeep Sandhu, our organization addresses the gap in support services after high school, helping individuals gain confidence and self-sufficiency. Serving Calgary and surrounding areas, we strive to break barriers and foster a more inclusive community.
Our Story
Founded in October 2023 by Arshdeep Sandhu, Resilient Hearts is a community service organization committed to supporting young adults with developmental disabilities. Arshdeep's experience working in a disability service organization exposed him to the everyday struggles these individuals face and the lack of essential life skills programs available to help them achieve independence.
Many young adults lose access to structured support once they graduate from high school or turn 18, leaving them without resources to manage daily life. Without guidance in areas such as cooking, cleaning, financial management, social skills, and transit training, they face significant challenges in transitioning to independent living.

Beyond the lack of services, societal misconceptions often limit opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The belief that they cannot live independently undermines their confidence and potential, creating unnecessary barriers to self-sufficiency.

Resilient Hearts serves Calgary and surrounding areas, providing the skills, guidance, and encouragement needed for independent living. By bridging the gap in support services, we aim to empower individuals, challenge misconceptions, and foster a more inclusive community.
