Our Story
Resilient Hearts is a Calgary-based community service organization dedicated to empowering young adults with developmental disabilities. Founded by Arshdeep Sandhu in 2023, we bridge the gap in support services by providing essential life skills such as cooking, cleaning, financial management, social skills, and transit training. Our mission is to equip individuals with the tools and confidence needed for independent living, challenging misconceptions and fostering self-sufficiency. EmpowerED is a platform designed to help us deliver on our goals and objectives.
Current Initiatives
Community Building
Our community building project focuses on creating a supportive environment where individuals with developmental disabilities can connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. Through workshops, social gatherings, and online forums, we aim to strengthen bonds and enhance social skills.
Skill Development
Skill development is at the core of our mission. We offer a range of training programs tailored to enhance life skills, boost confidence, and promote independence for adults with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to equip individuals with the tools needed to thrive in various aspects of their lives.
Peer Feedback
Peer feedback plays a crucial role in personal growth and development. Our platform encourages individuals to give and receive constructive feedback, fostering a culture of support, learning, and mutual empowerment among adults with developmental disabilities.
